Lake Country Trail

This is Bike Country ... er I mean Lake Country. It's Lake Country that has some of the most popular paved bike trails in the state: The Bugline Trail and the Lake Country Trail.

The Lake Country Trail covers 16 miles between Oconomowoc and Pewaukee. Along the way it passes Silver Lake, Lake Neshota, Upper Nemahbin Lake, The Bark River, Nagawicka Lake, and Pewaukee Lake. It also links city parks to form a a green belt in this populous suburban corridor.

Just off the trail in Delafield is the famous Veterans Memorial Riverwalk. It begins in Cushing Memorial Park and wanders through wetlands and alongside the Bark River. The Riverwalk features memorials to each American war from the Revolution to The War on Terror. At each station interpretative signs provide details of battles, innovations, and biographies describing these critical turning points in American history. This walking trail is surrounded by serene and beautiful scenery, much of its mile is on boardwalks through wetlands.

In Delafield you'll find bustling dinners and cafes with outdoor seating that cater to bikers on the Lake Country Trail. The Lumber Inn is famous for its morning bloody mary bar. And, Revere's Wells Street Tavern features even more outdoor seating beneath painted umbrellas.

The Lake Country Trail is paved its entire distance, with some miles of on road biking between trail sections. It is an easy and pleasant ride and in the scenic Southern Kettle Moraine. A portion of the trail is also certified as the Delafield Segment of the Ice Age National Trail.
