At 25 high and 35 feet wide, the rock bridge at Natural Bridge State Park is the largest natural bridge in Wisconsin. The informal state park protecting it offers several hiking trails including the one described here which passes alongside the natural bridge.
This trail is an easy 1.5 mile loop that is suitable for families and novice hikers. The key feature is the rock bridge and archaeological site, but hikers are also treated to a meandering path through flower filled meadows and a young hardwood forest. Trail runners may continue on across county highway C for an additional 3 mile loop.

Utah isn't the only state with beautiful stone arches. There are several rock bridges in Southwestern and Central Wisconsin. This one being the largest and most impressive.
Natural monuments such as these have always drawn the interest of people. While glaciers still covered the area at Devil's Lake, American Indians inhabited the deep overhangs at Natural Bridge State Park. Evidence of stone structures and the discarded bones of hunted animals have been found at this site which date to 12,000 years old.
When you reach the natural bridge it will be much more impressive than any photo you have seen of it. The area around the natural bridge is contained by sandstone walls - making it difficult to photograph the full scale and context of this marvelous feature.
Aside from the natural bridge, hikers enjoy the peace and quiet of this solitary park which is set into the monumental bluffs and rolling countryside of Wisconsin's most productive agricultural region. Far from major roads and other activities you can get away from it all here at Natural Bridge State Park.
