The Janesville to Milton Segment is a 3.2 mile connecting route between the Janesville Segment and the Milton Segment. Part of the segment is on roads and 1.5 miles is on a bike path set onto a former railroad bed. This trail offers a quiet place to walk off the road but lacks anything in the way of scenery. It is used by most as a bike path to access Janesville from Milton. It is also popular with dog walkers.

Ice Age Trail Janesville to Milton Segment |
This short segment does not require much description. It is a straight section of bike trail laid down on a former railbed and useful for through hikers as a way to avoid hiking along sidewalks and roads to access Milton from the paved Janesville Section. On the Janesville end there is a freeway exit commercial district with shopping, restaurants, and a few hotels. These hotels are a popular place for through hikers to bed down in the southern hook of the IAT.
