| Ice Age Trail Delafield Segment |
There are four portions to the Delafield Segment. the first section is on a paved bike path along Cushing Road that connects the Lake Country Bike Trail to Lapham Peak. This spur trail leads straight to Cushing Memorial Park where the Veterans Memorial Riverwalk begins.
A sign post at one end of the Veterans Memorial Riverwalk in Chushing Park announces the trailhead for the Delafield Segment. In truth the Delafield Segment begins as you walk out of Lapham Peak if you are heading eastbound on the IAT.
The Riverwalk is an unexpected natural delight. The Riverwalk features memorials to each American war from the Revolution to The War on Terror. At each station interpretative signs provide details of battles, innovations, and biographies describing these critical turning points in American history. This walking trail is surrounded by serene and beautiful scenery, much of its mile is on boardwalks through wetlands.
The third portion begins as you exit the Riverwalk onto N Genesee Street at St John's Park. Follow the yellow blazes along sidewalks as they guide you for three blocks through the heart of Delafield's downtown commercial district.
The fourth portion of the trail is along the Lake County Recreational Trail. This portion of the trail is on a wide paved bike trail. The Delafield Segment officially ends at Naga-Waukee County Park. The Hartland Trial begins across Highway 83 at the Naga-Waukee Golf Course and heads north through greenways and subdivisions.
